We would like to take a moment to thank Ryan Robinson who retires today as YCC 1XI Captain and from playing in the Bradford Premier Cricket League.
Ryan has been playing Senior Cricket since he was a teenager at New Farnley and before joining Yeadon he had success with other teams in the Bradford League such as Scholes and Adwalton.
Ryan came to YCC late in 2018 ahead of the 2019 season and assembled a new team and in the first season, fittingly Ryan put on a last man stand with Paul Machell against Birstall in the ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฝ ending as the winners.
With COVID affecting the world in 2020, we lost many of that cup winning team and Ryan took the rains again in 2022 and led the 1XI to
I would like to thank Ryan from everyone at YCC for all the success that he has brought the club, you will not only be missed here but in the Bradford League too.
Ryan is looking forward to some time out of the game, playing golf and potentially umpiring in the near future.
Once again, thank you Ryan, you are always welcome at YCC.

We would like to give special thanks to our President, ๐๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฆ๐น๐ผ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ as he retires from his role as 1st Team scorer for Yeadon Cricket Club.
We were trying to work out how many games Duncan would have scored and we have it around 500 which is a massive achievement spanning over 20 years of service starting manually with the score book and later with the laptop and in recent years, introducing Live Streaming with the NV Play software.
Duncan has always been professional, hard working and a constant of the 1XI, making sure match balls, match cards and overseas are all looked after and missing tea on many occasions due to his duties.
Yeadon Cricket Club would like to thank โDuncโ from the bottom of our hearts, you will be sorely missed on match days, but we are glad that you are remaining part of a club youโve been involved with for many years, continuing to lead on the amazing fireworks on Bonfire Night and player registration/admin.
We are sure we will see Duncan around the club after a โrelaxingโ Saturday afternoon bowling or possibly a beer after a few rounds of golf.
Please join me in thanking Duncan Sloane for his hard work and dedication!

At the recent End of Season Presentation we were proud to induct both Duncan Sloane and David Illingworth as Life Members of Yeadon Cricket Club.
Both Duncan and David were thoirughly deserving of their awards:
Duncan Sloane:
Duncan has been involved since the mid 90โs initially as a sponsor of a Single Wicket Competition in 1997.
From there he has always supported the Club over the last 27 years whether that be putting 1st teams together, ensuring his wife, Amanda was in the kitchen, sorting Bonfire Fireworks, taking on Chairmanship for a number of years around 2003-2010, overseeing the buying of the club & ground in 2010, putting up our overseas players on numerous seasonsboth in Yeadon & Summerbridge, and not forgetting his place in the scorebox where he has scored over 500 1st team games over the last 20 years!
He was instrumental in the NV Play streaming system, purchasing this on behalf of the club. Although he has officially retired as scorer he is supporting the club with player registration and bonfire night and I know if we need him, he will ALWAYS be around.
David Illingworth
David has been involved in the club for many many years as a social drinker although social drinker doesnโt really give the level of drink justice. He was involved in Junior Cricket before a small hiatus and joining of the committee, helping to make many events a success. Having been involved in bonfire night since a young age, he has been involved in the building of the bonfire which gets higher and higher each year although recent years, he has handed the building on to the next generation whilst he has oversaw the process fantastically well. He has helped me personally and many of us connected with the club and is always around for advice when we need it.
Please join us in congratulating both Duncan and David.
