Yeadon’s first team comfortably beaten at home by Bowling Old Lane. 20.7.24
On a warm and humid Saturday afternoon in Yeadon, Bowling Old Lane came away victorious with a very comfortable win over Yeadon’s first team.
The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first and started horribly when opener Hazrat Abbas was bowled by Yeadon’s Istikhar Hussain. It would get worse for Old Bowling Lane when Mohammed Nadim was caught off the bowling of Hussain for four from 17 deliveries. After the dismissal of Nadim it was slow going for Bowling Old Lane, who tried to rebuild after the loss of two quick wickets, before Hussain would pick up his third wicket trapping Khali Ur Rehman LBW, leaving Bowling Old Lane 22-3 from 16 overs.
The visitors would soon be 25-4, Imran Malik bowled by Adeel Ashraf for a duck. 50 would come up for Bowling Old Lane at the half way point of the innings. Fahrah Hussain and Shahzaib Khan would put on a much needed 81 for the fifth wicket before Khan was caught and Bowled by Asad Khan for a well made 47. Yeadon’s Hussain would get his fourth wicket when Ahsan Alishan was caught by Mali Bardouille-Lewis for 16. Fahrah Hussain would reach his 50 from 127 deliveries, a badly needed knock for Bowling Old Lane and a knock that proved to be vital in the outcome of the game.
Istikhar Hussain would pick up his fifth and sixth wicket of the match, first trapping Usman Riaz LBW then a few overs later, trapping Saqif Ridwan the same way. Hussain would finish with figures of 6-52 from his 15 overs. Thanks to Fahrah Hussain’s 60, Bowling Old Lane would reach 180-8 from 50 overs, a decent total considering where they were at the halfway stage.
Yeadon’s start to chasing 181, didn’t start well when opener Mali Bardouille-Lewis was bowled by Adbullah Ijaz for one. Ijaz would pick up his second wicket trapping Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed LBW for two, before this at the other end Gulsheraz Ahmed had hit a four and a six of the bowling off Ansan Alishan, Ijaz would then bowl Syed Saqlain Haider to leave Yeadon 49-3. Ahmed would eventually fall for 28, getting caught by Imran Malik of the bowling off Kamran Siddique.
Yeadon would then fall to 67-6 when Siddique bowled Seth Pickering and then Ijaz bowled Adeel Ashraf. Yeadon would then lose a further three wickets for 10 runs to go from 85-6 to 96 all out. First Istikhar Hussain getting out caught by Saqif Ridwan of the bowling off Ahsan Alishan, then Farakh Hussain who had retired not out earlier in the innings came back and ended with 28 getting out by being bowled by Hazrat Abbas. Abbas would then bowl Ethan Elsworth. Ridwan would then seal the victory for Bowling Old Lane taking the catch of his own bowling and that was that, an 84 run victory for Bowling old Lane.
Yeadon 1sts suffer defeat at home to Baildon. 6.7.24
On a Saturday afternoon which ended in penalty joy for England, it was disappointment for Yeadon 1st’s who suffered defeat at home to Baildon, in a low scoring and tight game at Yeadon.
Yeadon won the toss and decided to bat first but got off to the worst possible start when Daniel Hall nicked off the bowling of Samuel Kelly into the gloves of wicketkeeper – James Skingle for a duck. Kelly would then get Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed with an unplayable delivery, bowled Ahmed without scoring, leaving Yeadon 24-2. Seth Pickering and Gulsheraz Ahmed would put on a much needed 51 run partnership for the third wicket, Ahmed was then bowled by Kevin McDermott for 29 from 35 deliveries. Three overs later, Pickering was trapped LBW by Seif Hussain and Yeadon were 81-4 which would soon be 89-5 when Syed Saqlain Haider was caught by Will Kelly off the bowling of Kelly Mcdermott. Hussain would then get Farakh Hussain with an edge through to James Skingle. Asad Khan and Istikhar Hussain would put on 26 before Istikhar Hussain was caught off the bowling of Seif Hussain, Khan would then lose his wicket, trying to take on Cameron Sharp he was stumped by Skingle for 13. Yeadon were bowled out for 131 in 38 overs. Seif Hussain the pick of the Baildon bowlers, taking 4-28 from 11 overs.
Baildon would get off to the perfect start with openers James Skingle and Kevin Mcdermott hitting multiple boundaries getting Baildon up to 35 before Skingle got out, caught off the bowling of Adeel Ashaf by Daniel Hall for 11. Mcdermott got trapped LBW but only before he made 30 from 68 deliveries, Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed getting Yeadon’s second wicket. Baildon would soon lose there 3rd wicket when Angus Webb was caught by Farakh Hussain for one from five deliveries. Ahmed would get Jonny Reynolds caught by Faisal Mahmood for 17 from 24 deliveries. Will Kelly 30 (63) and Seif Hussain 21 (47) put on 56 before Kelly was out Caught and bowled by Syed Saqlain Haider for a well-made 36. Hussain would get Baildon over the line for win for the visitors with just over 2 overs to spare.
Yeadon 2nds defeat Underclffe CC by three wickets. 22.6.24
On Saturday afternoon, Yeadon 2nds defeated Undercliffe by three wickets, chasing down Undercliffe’s total with 13 overs to spare, with Abu-Bakar Siddiq hitting the winning runs

Undercliffe won the toss and chose to bat, however got of to a bad start when opener Gopal Makwana was trapped LBW by Patrick Parker for one from five deliveries. Nick Sugden and Samuel Caroll put on 22 before Calum Harvey got Sugden caught by Simeon Pickering to leave the visitors 26-2. Caroll and Craig Brook put on a much needed 71 run partnership before Abu-Bakar Siddiq trapped Carroll LBW for an impressive 46 from 69 deliveries.
Undercliffe would lose there 4th wicket soon after as Muhammed Uffat was caught by Daniel Hall off the bowling of Kamran Khan to leave Undercliffe 98-4. Khan would then pick up the wicket of Brook for 25 from 72 deliveries, Brook with an edge straight into George Bailey’s gloves. Khan would get his third when Dan Dickens looking to score, hit the ball straight into the hands of Siddiq who took the catch, Undercliffe 121-6 with 17 overs to go. James Smith and Ehsan Khan then put on a massively important 87 for Undercliffe before Zafar was ran out for 35 from 30 deliveries. Smith would then reach his 50 from 54 balls with Seven fours and four sixes Undercliffe would reach 222 from their 50 overs, a decent total considering they were 121-6 at one point.
Yeadon would get off to the worst possible start as Zafar who was having some game and would continue to have some game, got opener Daniel Hall for a duck. Zafar would get his second wicket when Samuel Woledge-Wilkinson was caught by Samuel Carroll for 9. George Barker and Charlie Machell would put on 42 for the third wicket before Zafar got his third, getting Machell out for 15 from 13 deliveries. Baker would then put on 87 runs for the 4th wicket with Simeon Pickering, Baker reached his 50 from 52 deliveries and then a rapid 50 from Pickering from 27 deliveries who would go onto to score 73 helped Yeadon to reach 156, before Pickering was caught by Samuel Carroll off the bowling of James Smith. Hamdaan Khan would soon pick up two wickets, first getting David Machell and then bowling George Barker leaving Yeadon 189-6. Zafar would get his fourth wicket of the game, however wasn’t going to change the outcome of the game. Siddiq hit the ball for four to give Yeadon 2nds an important win over Undercliffe with 13 overs to spare.
YEADON 1sts BEAT MORLEY IN THRILLER – James Melloy
On yet another glorious day for some cricket, Yeadon beat Morley by nine runs in a game that turned out to be an absolute thriller between the two sides.
Morley won the toss and chose to bowl first. Yeadon got off to a very good start, with Mali Bardouille Lewis and Daniel Hall putting on a 49 run partnership before Bardouille Lewis got out caught and bowled by Gordon Thomson for 27. Yeadon would soon lose their second wicket with Seth Pickering getting bowled by Asel Sigera without scoring.
Yeadon would move to 71 before losing their 3rd wicket, Sigera picking up his second wicket, Daniel Hall nicking to wicketkeeper Jotham Barnett. Yeadon would then lose their 4th with Syed Saqlain Haider getting out the same way, Bardouille Lewis did earlier in the innings, caught and bowled this time by Joel Murnan and then balls later he got Istikhar Hussain leaving Yeadon 88-5. Then a badly needed 52 run partnership for Yeadon between Gulsheraz Ahmed (21) and Asad Khan (30) got Yeadon up to 140 before losing their 6th wicket where Khan was caught by sreenath off the bowling of Gordon Thompson.
Sigera would pick up his third wicket, Ashraf tried to sweep the ball however it went up into the air and into the gloves of Barnett, leaving Yeadon 170-7 with 10 overs left. It would then be 171-8 as Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed was bowled by Joel Murnan, Murnan then bowled Ethan Elsworth for one from five deliveries. Gulsheraz Ahmed would get to his 50 from 76 deliveries, a very important knock for Yeadon by Ahmed with wickets falling around him. Yeadon would finish on 195-9, thanks to Ahmed’s 50 and a 30 from Ashraf.
Morley started their chase decently, with openers Jack Rowett and Rohit Kaimal both hitting boundaries. However Kaimal was dismissed when he was caught by Ethan Elsworth off the bowling of Istikhar Hussain for nine.
Rowett and James Mcnichol put on 25 before was caught by Faisal Mahmood off the bowling of Hussain for 11. Adeel Ashaf got the wicket of Jack Rowatt trapped LBW for 30, Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed would then bowl Ayran Singh for 12 from 29 deliveries leaving Morley 71-4 in the 22nd over. Gordon Thomson (40) and Asel Sigera (32) then put on a well needed 81 run partnership to take Morley past 150.
Ahmed got the important wicket of Thomson for 42, leaving Morley with another 43 to win. Morley would lose two quick wickets with Haider and Ashaf getting Sreenath and Jotham Barnett. Ashraf would then get the massive wicket of Sigera who had just gone past 50 from 67 deliveries, Morley needing another 16 with two wickets remaining. Ashraf would then pick up the wicket of Joel Munran, then Hussain bowled Jamil Aslam to secure a massive win for Yeadon’s first team.
PLENTY OF WICKETS FALL AS YEADON 3RD’S SUFFER DEFEAT AT HOME TO HARTSHEAD MOOR.
On a grey and miserable Sunday afternoon, Yeadon’s 3rd team were bowled out for 77, however took 6 wickets themselves but wasn’t enough as Hartshead got over the line.
Yeadon won the toss and chose to bat first, wasn’t long however before Yeadon their first wicket, Harry Ainsworth getting bowled by Sahil Mukadam for 4 from 14 deliveries. Yeadon would then fall to 11-2 when Charlie Machell was bowled by Will Sykes without scoring. James Wilkinson and Saul Peltier helped Yeadon rebuild slighty, getting the hosts to 41 before Peltier was caught by Thomas Johnstone off the bowling of Sahil Mukada.
Wilkinson would soon depart getting bowled by Louie Mitchell. It would soon be 50-5 as Mitchell picked up his second wicket as Harry Machell got out, caught by Charlie Ward and then 50-6 as Brannan Bellwood was caught by Sam Gooder off the bowling of Thomas Johnstone. Around the time, the rain came down and the players and umpires left the field and the covers came on. Around 35 minutes later play resumed, and Yeadon lost another wicket as Alex O’Connell was caught by Lucas Byrom off the bowling of Thomas Johnstone, Yeadon would eventually be bowled out for 77 with Saul Peltier top scoring with 16.
Harthead got of to the worst possible start, losing opener Lucas Byrom caught off the bowling of Calum Harvey for one from 15 deliveries.
Harvey got his second wicket getting Sam Gooder bowled for three from 30 deliveries. Calum Harvey would get his third not long after bowling Thomas Croft first ball for a duck. Hartshead would fall to 37-5 with Saul Peltier taking two wickets in the 16th over, first getting Sahil Mukadam and then George Booth, cleaned bowled the pair of them. Peltier would get his third in the 20th over, getting Charlie Ward out the same way he had got his previous two wickets. A 32 run partnership from Jonathan Ward and Will Sykes got Hartshead Moor over the line and secured the win for the visitors,
Yeadon 2nd’s with a massive win over Townville - 10.5.24
On a glorious Saturday afternoon in Yeadon, the 2nd team registered a massive victory over Townville, making it two wins from two so far this season.
Yeadon won the toss and chose to bat first which seemed the obvious choice with conditions how they were. Yeadon didn’t get off to a great start when in the second over, opener George Barker was out LBW for a duck by Ritchie Brsenan. Yeadon would then rebuild slowly and got to 50 before losing another wicket when Daniel Hall was bowled by Brsenan. Yeadon reached 100 on the 23rd over with Samuel Wolegde-Wilkinson and Charlie Machell putting on a 60 run partnership before Machell got out trying to hit the ball for six off the bowling of hughes for a rapid 46 from 30 balls.
Yeadon added another 26 before losing there 4th wicket, Pickering caught by Collinso again off the bowling of Hughes. Wolegde-Wilkinson would reach a lovely 50 from 90 balls with 6 fours and one six with Yeadon 150-4 with 18 overs thereabouts to go. Wolegde and Paul Machell brother of Charlie, put on a 50 run partnership within half an hour, However before as the 2nd’s got to 200, Woledge was stumped by Callum Solway off the bowling of Frankie Bryne leaving Yeadon 191-5, which ended a very good knock by Woledge- Wilkinson who left for a brilliant 73 from 112 deliveries.
Machell was bowled Niall Charles for 24 and the 2nd’s were 228-6 with just over 4 overs to go. Yeadon would reach the 250 mark in the 48th over, thanks to hitting from Patrick Parker and Abu-Baker Siddiq, the pair got Yeadon to a respectable total of 263-6 from the 50 overs. Bresnan and hughes both taking 2 wickets each for Townville.
Townville got off to the worst possible start, Callum Solway getting bowled by Paul Machell on the last ball of the first over. It then got ever worse as Dale Jones mis timed a shot and it went straight into the hands of Charlie Machell with his brother Paul Machell taking his second wicket. Townville then went from 14-2 to 23-5, first Niall Charles was out LBW by Calum Harvey, then Ben Collision trying to take a quick single was ran out by Josh Ingle. Then Matty Hughes was bowled by Kamran Khan. Not soon after Patrick Parker got Gareth Portman LBW and Townville were reeling at 27-6, it would then become 28-7 with Khan picking up yet another wicket bowling Jaden Hughes for 1. Richie Bresnan did hit a six and Townville got to 50 before losing yet another wicket, this time Abu-Bakar Siddiq bowled William Sibson to leave Townville 51-8. Siddiq got byrne and Khan got the wicket of Bresnan to give the 2nd’s a massive win of 212 runs and made it two wins from two so far this season.
